Services

Conviction, without urgency.

Our investment process begins with asset allocation. We build diversified portfolios across markets, asset classes and investment styles, selecting each exposure for the role it is intended to play.

Allocation

How we build portfolios

Asset allocation does most of the work in a long-term portfolio, so it comes first. We decide how much belongs in each market, asset class and investment style for your objectives, then choose each holding for the job it has to do: growth, income, stability or protection.

No exposure is held for its own sake. If we cannot say what role a position plays, it does not belong in the portfolio.

Selection

What we favour

  • Durable sources of return
  • Sensible valuations
  • Appropriate diversification
  • Strategies capable of compounding over long periods

Costs, liquidity, concentration and risk are considered alongside expected return. A holding that looks attractive on return alone can still be the wrong holding.

Temperament

Patience is part of the process.

We invest with conviction, but not with urgency. Short-term headlines do not determine long-term portfolios.

Markets reward investors who stay invested through discomfort. Our job is to build a portfolio you can hold through it, and to explain clearly what we are doing and why when markets are loud.

Diversification is the one free lunch. We take it every time.

Portfolio construction

Strategic asset allocation sets the long-term mix of equities, bonds and cash for your risk profile. Positions are sized so no single holding can decide the outcome. We rebalance when allocations drift outside agreed ranges, not on a calendar and not on emotion.

Our monthly and quarterly reviews explain what moved markets and what, if anything, we did about it. Read them here.
