About
Built from experience, for the long run.
Intrasia Wealth is the wealth management arm of the Intrasia Group, a privately owned financial services group headquartered in Mauritius.
Origins
Builder. Owner. Investor.

Graeme Robertson spent his career building things that last. For more than twenty years, from 1983 to 2005, he led New Hope Corporation, the Australian mining and energy group, as Chief Executive and Managing Director. In Indonesia he developed and served as President Director of PT Adaro Indonesia, which grew into the largest single open-cut coal mine in the Southern Hemisphere, and of Indonesia Bulk Terminal, the deep-water port built to ship from it. He sat on the board of Washington H. Soul Pattinson, one of Australia's oldest listed companies, and was recognised with the ASEAN Development Award in 1996 and the Millennium 500 Award in 2000 for building significant commercial operations in developing Asia.
He chose Mauritius deliberately. After commissioning a study of well-regulated, low-tax jurisdictions in 1995, he established the Group's first Mauritian company in 1997 and founded the Intrasia Group in 2005 to provide the structuring, fiduciary and investment services that families and businesses moving between Africa and Asia needed.
Through Intrasia Capital, the Group became one of the largest shareholders of AfrAsia Bank, the Mauritian bank founded in 2007 to finance trade and investment between Africa and Asia, with Graeme Robertson serving on its board. Intrasia Capital was the bank's third-largest shareholder for much of its life, alongside IBL, the island's largest conglomerate, and the National Bank of Canada. AfrAsia grew into one of the largest and most profitable banks in Mauritius, reporting a net profit of approximately USD 150 million for the year to June 2024.
In 2025 the Group exited its shareholding when The Access Bank UK acquired a majority of AfrAsia in a transaction completed in July of that year. Graeme Robertson continues to chair the AfrAsia Foundation, which provides education to children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Mauritius. The bank stake was built, held for the long term and realised well; the same discipline now shapes how Intrasia Wealth invests for its clients.
His experience creating value and employment across emerging economies shaped a belief that growth, security and opportunity should go hand in hand, and that financial success carries a responsibility to others. That conviction guides the Group today. Beyond Intrasia, he is a Founding Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Mauritius Institute of Directors, and chairs listed resources companies developing copper, gold and phosphate projects in Australia and Angola.
What we are
- Independent: privately owned, no bank parent, no product shelf.
- Licensed in Mauritius (FSC) and South Africa (FSCA), and partnered in the United Kingdom with Acacia Wealth, an FCA-authorised firm in London, through a strategic partnership with an equity collaboration announced in February 2026.
- Part of a Group: investment, banking and fiduciary capability under one roof, with immigration and property alongside.
- Regulated offices in Mauritius and Cape Town. The Group's offices in London, Singapore, Dubai and New York are not regulated for investment services; UK clients are served through Acacia Wealth.
- Whole of market: shares, ETFs, funds, hedge funds and structured products, chosen for the client's outcome, on an ongoing fee.
